SURE HE LOOKS CUTE...

... bill: ear stuff in left ear. stace: why in the left? we put the oil in her RIGHT this "morning!" bill: the other left...

i don't think i'm wrong about this. i really think bill decided 34 years ago that i was the perfect candidate for his life dream of driving someone absolutely nuts. i've been thinking about this for a while, and it seems to be the most credible explanation for his behavior. matt thinks his dad is just "too busy thinking about other things to be bothered with the minutiae of daily life with which the hoi polloi are consumed.

earlier this week, after he had told me that we would be having brunch on mother's day at his cousin's house, i asked him to call said cousin to find out what we could bring. i thought that would be my biggest job this weekend. "ohhhh." says he on the phone to cousin linda. "what, ohhhh," i say. "the brunch is at our house," says he. ohhhhh. now, i DO love having company. that's not the problem. the problems are (in a bulleted list, of course):

  • bill has an "office" in our bedroom. by "office" i mean that he has everything one man could possibly ever need to practice law for an entire lifetime in what was originally represented to me to be "a nice desk and bookcase over on that wall, stace. no big deal." this nice little, neat little area is no such thing. it's a fucking mess! my daughter in law once said our bedroom was a fire hazard. that's about the NICEST thing you could say about it. files, papers everywhere. books, software, starbucks cups. so ... 10 FUCKING DAYS AGO bill tears everything apart. he's going to clean it up. so now, for the PAST 10 FUCKING DAYS, EVERY SINGLE INCH OF THE FLOOR, NIGHTSTANDS, DRESSERS, AND BED is covered with his crap. i am not kidding. it's taking him forever. do you believe i've not mentioned this in my blog? i've been trying to be supportive. but now (remember the mother's day brunch?) i have to get involved and fix the whole damn thing. tonight, bill, tonight. and we're not stopping until it's finished.
  • we took the doors off the kitchen cupboards. we've been trying to decide what we wanted to do here. i thought i had some time. new cupboards? paint the present cupboards? put up shelves instead? wood or stainless steel? but now (remember the mother's day brunch?) i have to get these cupboards AT THE VERY LEAST cleaned out and rearranged.
  • yard work. spring cleanup. i think he and jax are working on that right now. they'd better be.
  • i don't know what else. i sent a list home to bill earlier.
  • ok. so that's the end of THAT part of the story. here's another. about 4:30 a.m. this morning, beagle "scout" started shaking her head and frantically itching her right ear. we got up - she sleeps on our bed, and we couldn't sleep anyway - and put some sweet oil drops in her ear. i knew she had ear mites and we'd have to get the treatment for it today. bill sent jax to the pet store early this afternoon. after jax returned home, this is the e-mail exchange bill and i had:

bill: ear stuff in left ear.
stace: why in the left? we put the oil in her RIGHT this "morning!"
    bill: the other left.

thanks to this really cool site for the code on this entry.

DOESN'T HE UNDERSTAND HOW FRAGILE I AM? you see, i think he DOES. it's all part of his plan.

About the bedroom floor with his crap? I can't say anything about that, my floor on my side of the bed is pathetic... books, books, magazines, journals all Just in case I'm in bed and don't feel like getting up for it.

I think the Hunter is right there with Bill on the driving the spouse crazy thing. Have I got some tales to post now that I'm posting again...

OMG. Brunch is at YOUR place. Not amusing. And the poor puppy. But the OTHER left? That's kind of amusing. I had to chuckle at that one. My puppy has had me up for the past few nights, too. Minor surgery this week... dew claw removal. It's been driving him nuts. I'd tell you to go look at the photos, but angelfire is pissing me off with blockloads for some reason (that's where I have the photos) so you might not see them. Besides. You're very busy.

Hugs. I'd come and help you if I were closer! Really, I would!

I am sorry Sweetie that you are going through all these ups and downs but I had to laugh at Bills comment "the other left". Shucks that was funny.

You are at an advantage you know with the hormonal changes (good excuse to be irrational) ... but because Bill will read this and think we are all aspiring to make the movie Kill Bill become a reality in Cleveland, I think I had better keep my mouth shut. On the other hand, I live in South Africa - very far from you ......

You can only do so much Stacey without falling to pieces totally. If the house is not ready for Sunday then everyone must accept that you are making a few "home improvements". If you really feel uncomfortable about it, suggest everyone goes out for brunch to a nice place. But I hope everything will work out for you in the end. Sending you lots and lots of (((hugs)))

I am so glad I'm not the only one whose dream of a beautiful bedroom was ruined by paper, books, junk and things we can't throw out because they could be useful in the next fifty years. I understand
