June Was a Bad Month

There were a few things that bugged me over the weekend, but I have one big question before I let you in on the inanities of life I encountered on the holiday weekend, some things that others will never get to enjoy:

Did any of the media outlets let anyone know that 42 U.S. soldiers were killed during the month of June in Iraq? Or isn’t that newsworthy?

Frank T. Carvill … I don’t know him, but he was 51 years old, older than I am, a Rutgers graduate, getting married when his tour ended, and thinking of becoming a lawyer.

Can I hear again, Mr. Bush, what Sgt. Carvill was fighting for?

When you look at a list like that and check out the ages of those fallen soldiers, it makes you really sad and then really really angry. It is all so senseless. I no longer watch the news because for a whole year we have had to live with incredible sadness and I am not even American.

I completely understand everyones views and opinions and you have a right to speek freely as you are Americans. For a while I got somewhat offended by these pages because Spc Justin Linden, my husband, was for Bush and I don't know that he would want his name on a page against him. At the same time though, freedom of speach is one of the things our soldiers fought so hard for, and I really appreciate the military support. It's the people who have no respect for our troops that bring me anger. Again thanks for supporting our soldiers!!!
