Hostess Brands is officially belly up, killed by a strike by the Bakers union. My lovely wife recalls from time to time one of her fond childhood moments, tearing the crust off slices of Wonder Bread and balling up the tender white bread and throwing the bread balls at cars driving by.
It's unfortunate that she will not be able to pass this skill on to succeeding generations with the hope it becomes a family tradition.
It also is the death of Twinkies. Yes, the bankruptcy court will sell off the recipe and the name and you will buy them, but it won't be a real Hostess Twinkie, upon which you will be experimenting.
