As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in schools.
Seriously, I agree with you. And those e-mails tick me off too.

Couldn't agree more.

To each their own.. tis what makes us American. But, I would add my 2 cents worth (not that you asked) and say that religion belongs in the home and in your church, not in the public education system. Just my opinion.

OK...telling you that I think YOU TOTALLY ROCK is an understatement. I couldn't agree more with you!

I too used to sit silent and delete those types of messages that I received and I have stopped doing that. If someone feels compelled to assume my beliefs by sending me those messages I will not hesitate to correct them on what I believe.

Do not assume I am Christian and I will not assume that I can crawl into your lap and lick your face while barking to the tune of "Who are the people in your neighborhood."

So well said Stacey!

Hmm. . . I got that forward from you, but it didn't work, which is too bad since, although the language of the petition may be off, the sentiment is right on. Public schools have waged a war on religion in general and Christianity in particular. It is time something was to stem the secularism that is force fed to schoolchildren.
Isn't it nice to have some diversity in the comments?

diversity?! i LOVE diversity! and from you, brett, i expected an argument. but not one of those espoused by the ca-ra-zy-i-see-dead-people front. i expected a reasoned, RATIONAL argument. maybe even a constitutional argument.

a WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY in public schools? by whom, brett? the mostly christian administrators? the mostly christian parents? the mostly christian voters? or have you just relabeled the constitutionally mandated opposition to ANY religious ethos as a WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY cuz, really, you, um, got nothin'?

Like they said - I couldn't agree more and I am not EVEN American *lol*

I demand that prayer be instituted in school, and that it be rotated among all faiths represented by more than 100,000 people in this country. Force a few of those nice christian kids to pray to MY god, and in hebrew. The next week, force them all to give devotion to Shiva. Then insist on ten minutes of totally silent zazen from the entire middle school. If religion is so important, let's bring it all in. If we are saying that only christian prayer - and protestant christian, at that - is valid, I'm going to have to disagree.

But not with you, Stacey. You're just great. Thanks for taking the time to "share the good news."
