Mixing soft and chewy foods? Eeewwwwww! And why are mashed potatoes always used as the binder? What the hell is that all about? Convenience? I think not! Mashed potatoes and pizza? Nobody ever does that. Mashed potatoes and tomato soup? Mashed potatoes and Kung Pao Chicken? Mashed potatoes and peanut butter toast? Nope, nope, and nope. I might need to look into this.
Posted by Philip at November 12, 2004 08:25 PMWhy darlin', its just fun to scoop some taters on your fork and dip it in peas or corn. I think the habit might start with kids. When mine were little, corn was hard for them to keep on a fork, so they were taught the mashed tater trick.
Chicharrones, fresh and sprinkled with chile powder and lime are good! (Even if the Chief Butthead eats 'em)
Don't touch Menudos, though.
