The wife should sue him for negligence and attempted murder. It very well could have been she who was injured in this.
It's stories like this that remind me it is better to test my own work whether anyone wants me to or not!

Posted by TW at November 19, 2004 12:18 AMJeff, if not currently a litigator, obviously missed his calling. It's all in the instinct. ;-)
She MUST not have meant to kill him because I'll tell you this truth: if she had, he'd be dead. You know, like, "accidentally" hitting the accelerator instead of the brake... A woman rarely misses when she's aiming for the man who's fucking with her life.
Trust me on this one.
Posted by lucy at November 19, 2004 10:27 AMWhy did this go to trial in the first place? Surely it was an accident? My father and brother were chasing a guy in the dead of the night after he tried to steal our car. My dad ran one way and my brother the other way trying to cut the guy off. My brother had a baseball bat in his hand when he heard footsteps running towards him. Crouching down, he waited until the burglar was close enough and he took a hard swing and hit the guy in the chest breaking a lot of his ribs. It was my dad. It never went to court.
