I haven't seen one of the buffalo nickels. The new nickel I've seen has shaking hands and what looks like a crossed tomahawk and peace pipe under the heading "Louisiana Purchase". I'm going to have to look for one of those buffalo ones.

there's also one with lewis & clark's boat. how lame is that? but the buffalo one is the only one that has the larger profile of jefferson. i don't get it. i like them, but i don't get it. and, i too like the $1 coins. i grew up in germany though, and was very used to using 1DM coins and thought they were great. maybe someday ...

When we were in Canada for a hockey (what else?) tournament, my boys were fascinated with the $1 and the $2 dollar coins used there....and when we got back, I found myself missing them. SO much easier and more convenient than our measly, rarely used $1 coin and all those paper one dollars.

And the Canadians, one can be sure, would never put a cock on a coin.
