i’ve noticed an odd phenomenon. it seems that time “feels” like it’s moving quicker or slower at times. i’m sure everyone’s noticed this. you know the feeling: “god, this week is dragging” – or –“ man, this week has just flown by. “
the weird thing is that the people around me seem to be experiencing that same fast- or slow-week “thing.” i don’t know if it’s just the people “around” me, you know, like the people i work with or my family. is it like that thing that happens where women who work together start to have their menstrual cycles aligned? or is bigger than that?
so here’s my very unscientific poll: how has this week “felt” to you. i woke up this morning thinking it was the weekend, that i could sleep in. these past couple of days have felt like an entire week already.
On Tuesday I thought it was Thursday and took the trash down to the curb. Now I'm thinking HOLY FUCK I WISH IT WERE TUESDAY! I still have a lot to get done this week.
That probably wasn't a helpful answer was it?
Posted by: Kathy Howe at October 23, 2003 10:39 AMkath: you "felt" like it was thursday, and now you "wish" it was tuesday. pretty clear to me that time was dragging, and so were you. i agree that just because time seems to move slower, i don't seem to get more done. blech.

Posted by: Bill at October 23, 2003 10:54 AMI notice this all the time, too. This week is flying by for me--boss is out of the office so I've been goofing off. Eeek, he'll be back soon! Have to get some work done!
Posted by: Sara at October 23, 2003 12:45 PMyeah, yesteray felt like saturday. so, it's good because i only have a two day week and then the weekend!!
Posted by: mark at October 23, 2003 01:08 PMIt goes in spurts. Mornings fly.. afternoons drags its ass to the point my eyes want to shut. Although I do perk up as soon as I leave. School's OUT!

Posted by: TW at October 23, 2003 01:33 PMthe work week ALWAYS seems long to me and it is currently on 4 days long. im totally workin' for the weekend.
Posted by: jenB at October 23, 2003 01:43 PMIt dragged initially but today it was sheer hell at work and before I knew it, it was way past going home time I did not even realise it.
Posted by: Michelle at October 23, 2003 03:05 PMThe week has flown by. I can't believe it's almost Friday. However, I've identified two possible reasons. One: I'm 450 miles from Avon Lake and therefore not affected by your dragging week. Two: I've been eagerly anticipating the start of my fraternity's Drink of the Day Club. Three trips to the package store in two days! You know what they say, time flies when your having fun.
