"Come On, Virginia, Show Me a Sign" and Moon Pies

My man, Billy Joel, wrote a little ditty about Catholic girls once upon a time. On the streets of Philadelphia, this Rudy Susanto character found out about Catholic girls when he was chased by 20 of them and then beaten to a pulp after exposing himself.

I bought a box of MoonPies the other day. I am disappointed in the extreme, so much so that I will definitively say right now that I hate MoonPies. I had some few years ago, and I thought they were pretty good. I'm looking at the box right now and feeling queasy.

Have a safe and happy Halloween.

I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to eat the whole box in one sitting, that would make you ill. :-)

I've found that pretty much ALL of the food of my youth (let's see, ding-dongs, moonpies, twinkies, spaghettios, I'm sure anyone can add to this list with examples of their own) fail miserably the adult taste-test. But what I can't figure out is this: Is it the adult palette? Or have the flavors of these foods changed over time? Because I SWEAR some of them truly taste different than they did when I was a kid - not as good. And it is so sad when I eat them and tey are SO not good. But then again, when looking at the nutritional value of these things, it's probably a really good thing that I can no longer stand to eat them, eh?

I read the about the girls and the molester and I wanted to cheer. That'll do more to stop him than any charges. I'm sorry you don't like moon pies, but it's OK because you're a Yankee. If you were a southerner we'd have to exile you or something.

Want to take bets on the lawsuit against those girls for unlawful attack on this individual?
