When I grow up, I want to get a thing for my car antenna just like the one I saw today. I drew a picture of it:
I think it was a cactus ... with sunglasses ... and a red cowboy hat ... and a red bandanna. I gave the lady a wide berth. Very weird. Well, maybe not ... weird doesn't begin to describe it.

Posted by Bill at July 20, 2004 11:56 PMLOL! My parents had one of these for their car when they did the snowbird thing to Arizona every winter... - mother was quite put out when someone STOLE it! I liked it because I could always tell which minivan was theirs when I was tootling around the old hometown seeing the same little old people driving the same cars around in the same little old people manner. And since it is usually little old people driving when you see them (the cacti thingies), it may be a good idea to give wide berth... okay, I'm generalizing. What a nice person.
Posted by: Keri at July 21, 2004 10:17 AMUmmm, what's the other thing on the car? I get the Ford thing - Did someone try and egg the cactus?
Posted by: Keri at July 21, 2004 10:18 AMThat is soooo much better than the things our drivers do to their cars. First you have the plastic Orange on top of the aerial. Then you have the shiny CD hanging from the rear view mirror. Then you have all the fluffy toys hanging from the back window. Now let us not forget the mag wheels, the exhaust with 1000 holes in it and the muffler removed and then tinted windows. Then to round it off, you have a car stereo built into the boot of the car which has enough volume and base to put any of the The Who live concerts to shame.
So go ahead and get your cactus with a cowboy hat and bandana... you will appear normal.
*lol*
Posted by: Michelle at July 21, 2004 02:31 PMI am confused...
You mean you DON'T have a cowboy cactus on the WHO VW? Dang. And I bet you don't even have the required set of longhorns mounted as a hood ornament, either. And surely you didn't leave off the ahhh-oooga horn?
Posted by: Cowtown Pattie at July 22, 2004 12:54 PMThat's pretty sexist.... what about bald gals? I'd shave my head for a free meal.... ;)

Posted by: -d at July 22, 2004 02:38 PMI meant to ask... how do you get your drawings into your blog? Do you have a CAD thingy or do you just draw it and then scan? No laughing, and yes, I am really blonde.
Posted by: Cowtown Pattie at July 22, 2004 11:01 PMSeriously I did NOT think that was a drawing of a cactus when I first mosied over here.
NBL goes XXX...what the hell...
