MY THOUGHTS TODAY -- WHY SHOULD I KEEP THEM TO MYSELF?

  • jax lost (came in second) in the blog madness finals that ended last night. i cannot express how much bill and i appreciate your support and mojo that you show and send jax’s way all the time. the stigma of being a recovering drug addict is not a small thing. jax feels it daily. so the fact that you good blog people are surrounding him with your lovin’ and send him good thoughts and support is HUGE. i am so grateful. bill entered that entry on jax’s behalf. jax tried to tell us he didn’t care, i think he was kind of nervous about how he’d be received in the greater blog world. i think, in general, it was good. he, perhaps being a little oversensitive about it, felt a little, teeny bit of condescension and derision from some comments he found on others’ sites about his entry. the fact that he went looking for it shows me a lot. he really cared about this, AND he’s a little oversensitive. i can’t blame him for that, though – must be hard to stare that in the face everyday. but YOU PEOPLE. you’re awesome! you are so compassionate and thoughtful people. thanks. [i’m stopping there – i’m ruining my makeup.]

  • i’m gonna freak most of you out here with this one, i know. now it’s no surprise to our readers that i’m not a little george fan. not at all, at all. but he IS the president. and i’m not thrilled about john kerry entertaining discussion with “world leaders” about the upcoming election and their hopes about the outcome. that’s just crap. campaign here. in this country. keep your thoughts to yourself when talking to other “world leaders.” you are a freakin’ united states senator, for god’s sake. not just an ordinary citizen. and, at this point, you’re not behaving with much propriety. i just can’t wrap my head around what’s going on in YOUR brain, senator kerry. you voted to support the president’s agenda in iraq. you voted against throwing more support to the troops. you are starting to REALLY piss me off. i was going to vote for you, as a vote AGAINST george. at this point, i’m thinking more and more about nader. i was annoyed that he threw his hat in the ring, cuz i thought he’d be the deal breaker for kerry. i’m starting not to care much at this point. i’m thinking i might agree with ralph that it’s more important to let my vote and voice be heard. still thinking. stay tuned.

  • did i mention that matt got into the osu phd program for computer science? and got a t/a position? oh yeah, i did. sorry. not.

  • bill’s making us burgers for dinner tonight the way he used to when we were first married and he was still in college (undergrad even). yes, there were cows back then. very funny. you people crack me up, AND DON'T TELL ME IT'S JUST THE VOICES IN MY HEAD THAT SAID THAT -- I HEARD YOU! smashed, fried ground beef patties on really soft wonder bread. with a little mayo and lettuce. we’ve been hankerin’ for it. i’m thinkin’ fritos on the side.

  • if you want to see some photographs of a most beautiful baby, go here.

  • we’re working on a little blog redesign. stay tuned. the new format will allow you to read only bill’s entries (thus being able to entirely avoid my too-sentimental, too-bitchy, too-EVERYTHING postings). AND we’re hoping to add a food / kitchen page.

  • oh yeah. and did i mention that i love bullets?

I love reading both of you. Jackson's site is great, a useful insite, he didn't 'lose' he came second, out of all of the other blogs. I wish Rob could cook like Bill does, when is he going to publish a book of his recipes? I'm still trying to work out how I accidently got a square bullet, bullets are addictive.
